Roles
Below are just a few of the roles needed to make Thunder Run successful. Each of these roles can have the support of multiple people to make the task manageable:
- Thunder Run Lead: Ross Comer (open to adding a co-lead). Responsible for making this event happen.
- Communication Leads: Chris Huchel and Dee Williamson. Owns emergency communication during the event., creating a communication plan (HAM radios, backup communication mechanisms such as pilot-sent comms, etc) for the event. Identifies and recruits HAM radio operators for the airports
- Donation Lead: Work with organizations who can donate foods and goods and identify recipients for those items. .
- Pilot Coordination Lead: Manage pilot communication and coordination. Work with Marketing Lead to identify new pilots.
- Pilot Coordinator: Manage pilot signups and exercise planning
- Ground Crew Coordinator: Manage volunteer signups and exercise planning
- Pilots: Fly during the event
- Ground Crew: Help support the event in the days leading up to the event and during the event in moving goods, loading planes, marshalling planes, etc.
All participants are encouraged to participate throughout the year, giving feedback before and after the event to make the event as effective as possible.
